Los Altos, CA and Cambridge, MA (April 2, 2015). Genome Compiler Corp., a Los Altos based synthetic biology software company entered into a collaborative agreement with Addgene, a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing plasmids, located in Cambridge, MA. Genome Compiler will be integrating Addgene plasmid repository into its advanced design tools and marketplace platform, enabling users to visualize, design, order and deposit their genetic data to Addgene’s repository of plasmids.
“At Genome Compiler, we empower users with an intuitive, comprehensive synthetic biology platform solution. By incorporating the world’s largest repository of plasmids, Addgene, we are closing the loop between research, design and information sharing”, said Omri Drory, CEO of Genome Compiler. “The platform solution will provide the industry with a comprehensive platform for all their synthetic biology needs. Customers would benefit from direct connections to an array of DNA synthesis providers and automation facilities, and from an extensive suite of advanced bio-informatics tools and genetic repositories, all in one platform".
“Addgene is looking forward to the partnership with Genome Compiler.” said Joanne Kamens, Executive Director of Addgene. “The ability to access Addgene plasmid data via the Genome Compiler platform will provide scientists with a much simplified integration of our repository with the intuitive Genome Compiler design platform.” Addgene currently serves over 80,000 scientists in 80 countries and the repository stores and distributes an extensive library of more than 40,000 plasmids.
